Cost of compliance with new FSA regulations can now be reduced

The additional cost of compliance with the new FSA (Financial Services Authority) regulations for insurers can now be contained thanks to Accounting Products (www.accountingproducts.co.uk) enhanced customer relationship/document management software CleverDocs for IFAs.

Accounting Products document management system – CleverDocs for IFAs – has already substantially reduced operating costs for Denyer Insurance by streamlining many of the processes for compliance, sales, customer interaction and document management. Denyer, which pioneered commission-free life, critical illness, pensions and general insurance, sold via the internet, is the first IFA to incorporate the enhanced software. CleverDocs for IFAs helps ensure this by improving productivity across all aspects of an IFA business: •Compliance •Business Management •Relationship Management •Document Management •IFA Intelligence Compliance Comprehensive client and policy registers Fact find recording Terms of business agreement status Logged communications with providers and clients Business Management Financial Services and General Insurance Commission statements can be retrieved by time and/or providers Renewal commission forecasting Commission tracking at IFA, insurer and even client level Reduced administration Greater responsiveness Business Intelligence Relationship Management Client policy history and status is available on-line Authorised agents have access to documents Automated communications with clients when policy status changes Standard letters can be created and sent automatically Document Management All communications scanned and accessible on line Documents can be filed against providers, clients and policies Documents can be filed against any number of clients and policies Thumbnail view of documents available for quick reference or Documents can be opened and printed, emailed or faxed from the screen IFA intelligence Comprehensive policy register One or multiple parties to a policy One or multiple lives to assure Policy extensions Key dates available on policy records (Application, Acceptance , On-risk) Reasons (Letter, Objectives, Risk Attitude) Policy numbers (internal and provider) Status policy application with compliance/sales process Advice and policy history available

>From 2005 the new FSA regulations will demand increased transparency and compliance auditability. Simon Hill, Managing Director of Denyer says “while creating a new way of selling insurance, it became apparent that we also had to transact our business in a new way. The cost of dealing with paper has always been a key factor in operating a paper based business. The creation of CleverDocs has allowed us to automate many processes. From an initial interest on our website through to policy acceptance and follow-up we have been able to make the most of our key processes to become paperless and yet retain the feel, as far as clients are concerned, that we are looking after their needs in a traditional manner.”

CleverDocs was created on time, on budget and, after three years’ continuous operation, without a single failure”. He continued “after we implemented CleverDocs and went live, we were able to immediately transact more business and release staff to do more productive work. We also had one place for customer records, quotes, policy documents, e-mails, correspondence etc. With this system in place, everything became accessible at the touch of a button”.

Play Better Golf Now

Monday, December 29th, 2008

To play better golf is the lifelong pursuit of every golfer on the planet. Why else would we subject ourselves to one of the most humbling games (sport) ever?

I mean, how many times have you come off the course ready to give it up?

I’m dead serious!

You drive home saying never again! But…you go to the range the next day, or even the same day, after you’ve cooled down.

Man, what a glutton for punishment! Just hours before, you got totally humiliated, and now you’re back for more.

The vicious cycle a golfer goes through every season.

So let me guess. You’ve bought equipment (lots of it). Taken lessons. And pound hundreds of balls every week.

Am I close?

The 6 million dollar question is…have you gotten better? Are you happy with your game? Are you driving it as far as you’d like?

If not, what now?

There’s only one thing left.

YOU!

You’re body is keeping you from the game of your dreams. The game you know you’re capable of playing. Doesn’t that make sense? If you’ve tried all the above and still are not satisfied.

Here’s what you have to do…immediately!

Diagnose your limitations. Is it strength? Is it flexibility? Or how about stamina? You know it’s a strength issue, if your swing mechanics are good, but you’re not hitting the ball any amount of distance.

It’s a flexibility issue if you if you can’t perform consistent swings with proper mechanics. And it’s obviously a stamina issue if your back nine is worse than your front nine.

Once you come up with your personal limitations, you’ve got to set up a program, or search one out that will get you on the right track and not hurt your game.

Working on your limitations will get you the quickest results, in the shortest amount of time. You’ll be amazed at how much better your swing is and how much farther you’re hitting the ball.

Your golf will become enjoyable again, and you’ll wonder why you didn’t take this approach years ago.

Remember, it’s NEVER too late to start!

NEVER!

So get to it right now and start to play better golf!

A Beginner's Guide to Avoiding Viruses

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

“Aaaaaahhhhhh! I’ve been invaded by a virus!” Getting a virus means getting sick and no one in their right mind wants to be ill. Well, now that computers have become our close friends, it’s a shock to learn that foreign bodies too can invade them with malicious intent. No, your computer doesn’t get a runny nose or diarrhea. This is a sickness that stops your friend from functioning properly, sick in bed, incapacitated.

Well in Nature viruses occur from a power outside of our control. But, with computers it’s different, humans, mean or ignorant humans are creating these viruses. Why? Usually these are disgruntled people who want to wreak some havoc on others or companies that they feel have done wrong to them. In any case we have to be in the know and prepared to deal with these debilitating scourges.

There are many ways to approach the protection of your computer. First of all there’s the step of awareness. Be aware of how viruses are transmitted. You can catch them from a disc but in most cases it is through your email system. Check your email carefully. Be very wary of anything that has an attachment. Check whom it’s from and look at the title of the mail, is it something you were expecting? Even if it’s from someone you know, be careful as their computer could be infected and the virus being transmitted without their knowledge.

Next, read the cover message, you can’t catch the disease without actually opening the message. Look at the name of the attachment; remember viruses are written to entice you. Beware of free offers and generally anything from people you don’t know, as well as messages that sound irrelevant to your contact’s usual style. Delete them straight away. Delete, delete, delete. This will ensure you of a lower risk of infection. You can even send the message back to the sender without opening it to make sure it is valid.

Now for the heavy protection: Virus scanning and virus protection software, and rescue discs are all readily available and easily utilized. Some are free, and others are obtained for a very small charge. Most software manufacturers offer subscriptions for updating services, which automatically download protection to the latest viruses.

There are two main types of virus scanning software: one searches through your entire computer files looking for recognizable viral signatures, the other scans your incoming and outgoing emails. Alerts will show you when a file needs to be erased or repaired. If you do receive a virus that none of the software can repair you can send a copy of it to a company like Symantec who will be happy to develop a cure for it.

The main message here is not to get too worried about your good friend Mrs. PC getting ill or sick. The humans are on top of the case and they seem much better adapted at fixing their technology than they are at beating the viruses that attack our physical bodies. If only we could cure human virus and illness as easily as we solve the problem of computer sickness.

Being Human, Being Spiritual

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

We had some interesting comments on last week’s newsletter, Pay Attention To What You’re Paying Attention To. For those of you who didn’t see it, Joseph and I talked about a cooking “accident” I had. It was a kitchen fire which could have easily burned my house down.

Most of the comments were, as usual, supportive and positive. Some were not. Which is fine. I’ve always encouraged your honest feedback, positive or negative.

I don’t do this often, but this week I want to talk about the negative feedback.

That feedback could be condensed into a single question:

How could you, the channel for this wonderful spirit guide, Joseph, have the challenges other humans do? (That is, how could you, of all people, have almost burned your house down?)

Over many years now, in this newsletter and in my private correspondence with many of you, I have never made a secret of my human challenges. Or pretended I was superhuman. In fact, my challenges sometimes provide “fodder” for subjects Chief Joseph wants to talk about. As was the case last week-and this week too.

Nevertheless, some of you have clearly put me up on a pedestal. Being on a pedestal is very uncomfortable. At least for me.

One woman even said she could barely imagine me in the kitchen cooking. Like ordinary mortals, I guess she meant.

Folks, I’m as human as all the rest of you. Still growing and remembering. And I’m as spiritual as all the rest of you. All-powerful and all-wise.

We’re all human and spiritual at the same time. Being human doesn’t make us any less spiritual. And being spiritual doesn’t make us any less human.

Chief Joseph

You’ll never get your life over and done with-there are no destinations, only endless journeys. You’re always growing, whether in human or spirit form.

And so, in that spirit of adventure, your souls have often decided to project themselves, if you will, into physical form. You’ve all done this many times over the eons, in far more physical lifetimes than you could ever recall from your current human perspective.

You and your soul-or higher self, or whatever term you prefer-are eternally one, eternally bonded. This human personality you now are, and this human body you have now, are simply an extension of that greater you-your soul, your higher self.

You have chosen to experience the excitement, the joy, the challenges of being physical for a while. It’s all supposed to be fun!

Your soul knew that when you incarnated-this time, and all of the many other times you incarnated into a human body.

This human life of yours is a glorious adventure in remembering and exercising your divinity. In remembering and exercising the great creative powers you all possess, as the glorious goddesses and gods you are, albeit in human form for now.

Which brings us to our point here for today.

You did not choose to be human so you could just lay around doing nothing for 50 or 100 years. You chose to be human so you could immerse yourselves in the challenges and contrasts of human life. And so you could have fun and find joy in the process.

Life on earth is a magnificent opportunity for you, as your souls see it, to flex your creative muscles, as it were.

And in doing so, you are adding your energies, your unique creative powers to the expanding Universe. The Universe-and you-are always expanding and growing. Every thought you think, every action you take has a ripple effect. And you thereby touch all that is, even unto the farthest reaches of the Universe.

You are far from powerless. You are powerful far beyond your wildest imaginings and dreams.

And so every experience, every challenge you face in your human lives is a great opportunity for you to grow and remember who you truly are. Even those experiences your human mind considers tragic are opportunities for you grow and remember.

You are human and spiritual at the same time. Being fully human, in every moment of your earthly lives, enables you to be fully spiritual in every moment of your eternal lives.

The two-the human you and the spiritual you-are eternally one. To be fully human does not make you less spiritual. To be fully spiritual does not make you less human.

Basic Information on Pilates rings.

Basic Information on Pilates rings.

You’ve probably been hearing about “core” exercises and Pilates for quite a while and are probably doing it once to thrice a week, you’ve probably used different DVD’s, different styles techniques and different equipment just to get that great body that everybody is drooling about. Hearing of all this, you’ve probably heard of the Ever present Pilates Ring, the non bulky, and cheaper alternative to all of those bulky machines.

The Pilates ring of course, as its name says, is used in the practice of Pilates, specifically for Winsor Pilates. Winsor Pilates makes use of low intensity workouts that work on the “core” of the body. By core it means the muscles in the abdomen, back and pelvis. As these are low intensity, these can be done even by those who are of weak health status. But just because it is low intensity doesn’t mean it’ll take a long time for results, or won’t have results, in fact Winsor Pilates promise results in a month, when it is used three days a week. Wisnor Pilates is distributed on DVDs.

A Pilates ring however, aside from being used to tone the buttocks and the abdominal and pelvic muscles can also be used to specifically target muscles in the leg, pecs, lats, triceps and biceps. It is an all around exercise accessory that everyone should have. To change position, you can reposition the ring in either your arms or your legs, whatever location it is that you want to tone and improve, and basically and squeezing it. But there is more to a Pilates ring than merely squeezing; anything done wrongly can cause injury, especially when exercising, so before you start, try to consult a certified Pilates instructor.

Pilates rings also have different brand names, and depending on the manufacturer, different resistances. Some manufacturers offer a line of different resistances; some offer just one line with one resistance. It is suggested that you get those that have varied resistances so that you’re your body has been used and toned at a certain level; you can further increase your workout by increasing the resistance of the Pilates ring. Some rings have a stronger resistance for a harder workout; some have lighter resistance for a lighter workout. Just remember, make sure that you can take the resistance before rushing into it. Anything, no matter how foolproof can be dangerous if used incorrectly, in short, you might get injured if you use too much resistance. Again, try to consult a certified Pilates instructor before changing resistances.

Pilates rings, boast of foam padded grips for the comfort of the user, these are the parts that make actual contact with the part of the body, making the exercise more comfortable than if done without one. Pilates rings are made of lightweight material, and may be brought with you anywhere, to the gym or at home or during travel.

The Pilates ring is only one of the few accessories, or if you must, equipment that Winsor Pilates incorporates into its program for a better workout. However, you don’t really need a Pilates program to be able to use a Pilates ring. Although the ring was made especially for this program, the Pilates ring itself can be incorporated into any other type of exercise program that you currently have, providing that you consult with your instructor.

Fast Weight Loss… Can You Really Lose 60lbs In 30 Days?

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

Is it better to lose 2lbs a day or 2lbs a week?

Yes it’s very possible that you can lose 60lbs in 30 days but I don’t think you would want to and here’s the reason why:

Let’s say you do lose 60lbs in 30 days… how much of that weight you lose do you think is going to be pure body fat? Remember– body fat makes us look ugly.

Anytime you try to lose more than 2lbs a week or 60lbs in 30 days (2lbs a day!)…A larger part of the weight you lose is only going to be water and muscle. Losing a lot of water and muscle weight does nothing to improve your looks and it slows down your metabolism

Ski Holidays for the Carbon Friendly Traveler

Friday, December 26th, 2008

Many keen skiers will shortly be dusting down their ski equipment and shooting off in search of the largest snow conditions.

And without doubt the impact of our carbon footprint will be virtually as far down the list of holiday to dos as a Christmas cracker after the Christmas vacation.

Only last year, a sluggish snowfall was in the tabloids and tourists were panic struck about the bits of snow disappearing nearly as soon as they put down.

Ski company Chalet1802, based at the base of Mont Blanc in Chamonix town in the Alps, is one of the first independent businesses to go carbon neutral and afford snowboarders an environmentally friendly selection when reserving their skiing trip.

Chalet1802 proprietor Wine stated: Last winter was a bit of a shock with the most warm winter in fifty yrs in France. Skiing resorts such as Montroc, Les Houches and Megeve lacked clients. It was temperate and the snow did not last so much of the early skiing season in the French Alps was limited. We selected to go carbon negative to assist in the preservation the ski resort.

Wine said: We are not assaying to dictate to guests but I believe it’s all important to grant them the alternative without increasing the price of the skiing holiday. If the client book with us and goes on holiday to our Chamonix chalet they may further off-set their carbon output and we soak up the added prices. Of course we still have a sauna and a hot tub – customers want luxury but not at the expense of the environment, so we viewed methods of lessening the impact of a skier driving over here for a snowboarding holiday.”

The firm have moreover partnered with group Climate Care, which tackles climate change by providing C02 reductions for individuals and firms.

For additional information on luxury chalets and carbon neutral ski holidays offered by Chalet1802 visit www.chalet1802.co.uk.

Finding good rates on Cheap Phone Cards.

Friday, December 26th, 2008

Cheap phone cards can be very helpful if you’re trying to save money on domestic and international long distance calls. From time to time all of us need to call outside of our local phone area. It can be domestic call to other USA city or international call to other country.

Big the big long-distance companies charge unbelievable amount of money for each call. It depends on the time of day we are calling or some other things and of course which company we are going to use. But price per minute can be $0.15, $0.25 or even $0.50 per minute for USA domestic call! In this day and age those rates are ridiculous.

Save money on international calls using Cheap Phone Cards.

It’s almost unbelievable but international calls can cost you up to $5 per minute. Worst of all, you find it only when you get your phone bill! Of course some phone companies offer you monthly plans and you pay less. But here’s the silly part: you pay your monthly payment whether you make a call or not.

A pre-paid phone card is a card you purchase (for a set price) and use to make long distance phone calls. These cards are usually sold in dollar amounts or by number of minutes.
Many people use a pre-paid phone card because of the card’s convenience – it can be used anywhere and, since you pay in advance, there is no bill. Pre-paid phone cards are popular among travelers, students, people who frequently call overseas, and those who haven’t selected a long-distance service.

Buy Cut out Swimsuits via the Web

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

At present lots of people prefer to procure their swimwear online; shopping online is a straightforward and proper way to shop in the warmth of your own dinning room.

It’s vital to guarantee whilst procuring swimwear on the Internet that it defiantly fits you exactly. When you acquire swimwear on the Web always make sure that the store offers a helpful quality sizing chart that presents all of the measurements you may require. With the use of a sizing diagram one can guarantee to buy a swimsuit or bikini that fits correctly, so reducing the necessity to swap for an alternative size. By and large most of the online swimwear shops do not provide an exchange of goods with this in mind it is usually always better to select an online shop where exchanges are allowed. Many stores will allow the returns of swimwear if the tags & the original wrapping are also returned along with it.

These women even think about wearing caftans by the swimming pool or at the beach rather than looking unpleasant.
